Our Story

Our family has owned the farmland and hillsides that grow the grapes for generations. The high elevation, the cool temperatures and the eastern and southern aspects of the slopes in Eastern Pennsylvania make an ideal location for the cold climate grapes of northern Europe.

The love of wine and the appeal of wine country enticed us to plant grapes on the higher and steeper hillsides of the family farm.

Today myself, Carol, and our five children own and operate the wine business; time allowing for real jobs and furthering educations.

Our New Winery

In 2008 we purchased an additional 35 acres of land in the hills outside Kutztown. We currently have 23 acres of vines planted in 10 different varietals, with more acres left for a possibility of more wines.

In 2009 we began building a gravity flow winery on site. A gravity flow winery allows us to pump the wine less frequently, which in turn minimizes the amount of oxygen the wine comes in contact with.

We opened our new doors to the public in Summer of 2010 and could not be happier with our new winery and location. The view overlooks the Blue Mountains as well as a sloping vineyard. It's always a perfect day for a picnic on our lawn.
