Our Wines

Viticulture and winemaking are year round processes. Beginning in the winter we prune the dormant vines to control the amount and quality of fruit coming from each shoot. Once the weather warms up, the vines start sprouting leaves and flowers. We maintain the vineyard throughout the summer to allow the grapes to fully ripen. In early August, once the vines start bearing mature fruit, we cover the grapes with netting to reduce crop damage from birds and deer. The harvest season is our busiest time and lasts from mid-September to late October. We pick, crush, and ferment the grapes within this time frame. After the primary fermentation, we transfer the wine into barrels or stainless steel tanks to allow them to develop character for the next 10 months to 2 years. Finally, the wine is ready to be bottled. We wait until bottling shock is over before we release it to the public. And we can’t forget the best part about winemaking, drinking the wine!
